We are seeking a dynamic and experienced manager to take on the role of Head of People, Training & Development and join the team of a five-star Scottish country hotel set in its own picturesque grounds on the outskirts of the historic city of Aberdeen.

As Head of People, Training & Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture and success of this hotel. Your expertise in HR management will be instrumental in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring that the team members are motivated, engaged, and equipped to deliver exceptional service to the guests.

Head of People, Training & Development Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HR strategies and policies that align with the hotel’s objectives and values.
• Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the hiring of qualified individuals who embody our brand’s ethos.
• Help create and deliver comprehensive onboarding and training programs to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Develop and maintain effective employee relations, addressing any concerns or conflicts promptly and professionally.
• Manage performance appraisal systems, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify and address training needs, career development opportunities, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, promoting equal opportunities for all team members.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, continuously improving HR processes and initiatives.

Head of People, Training & Development Requirements:

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent is essential.
