Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Cook working for an assisted living residence in Smethwick

Working hours : 27hrs per week – over 5days including Alternate weekends.
Location : Smethwick B66
Pay rate: 12.18
Start date : 2ND October 2024

Your current duties and responsibilities are

• To complete HACCP and all other paperwork required for the role and keep up to date.
• Direct and supervise kitchen staff and ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities with regard to food hygiene and preparation safety requirements.
• Work closely with the homes manager to plan menu’s which reflect choices and preferences of the service users.
• To ensure that supplies are ordered in accordance with the planned menu and that accurate stock control and good food management is maintained.
• To prepare, cook and present well balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating cultural and dietary needs of the service users.
• To participate in the operation of the Council’s Appraisal Scheme.
• Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Service Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder’s salary grade, abilities, and aptitudes.

– Possess NVQ level 2 or 3 in Food Preparation/Catering and Food Hygiene.

– Have Experience of catering within a commercial or care setting.

– Have knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene regulations.

– Be over 18 years of age.
