Our client is looking for a Chef & Canteen Supervisor for staff, providing free meals on a daily basis for 130 people.
We are looking for another chef to work alongside the current chef to ensure all staff have a mid-morning snack and freshly prepared healthy hot lunch. Must have experience of cooking a maximum of 100 covers per day with an up-to-date hygiene certificate Level 3 and full working knowledge of kitchen health & safety requirements. The applicant must be able to cook & serve on their own when the colleague is on holiday.
Driving is essential
Hours: 8.15 am – 4pm with a half hour break, total 36.25 hours.
Holiday: 28 days per annum (inc. bank holidays)
Responsibilities
To ensure that the canteen is open every working day & that there is sufficient food for the entire workforce
To ensure all H&S procedures are followed
To ensure you are up to date with all new legislation, re food preparation & hygiene certification
To ensure your acquainted with all staff’s allergies
To ensure that you keep the “safer food better business (SFBB) up to date
To ensure you are aware of the kitchen rules and regulation
Maintain the kitchen is clean and safe to serve food
Ensure equipment is in good working order
Available for the occasional evening meal for large number of visitors staying over
Abide by Pest control regulations
Duties
Plan weekly menus & research new & interesting taste sensations, always bearing in mind healthy & nutritional values
Order food for morning break & lunch in good time
Knowledge of and be able to complete SFBB book on a daily basis
Prepare & cook food
Clean the kitchen at the end of each day
