Chef (minimum 3yrs experience)

Preparing bar snacks and functions at a busy and friendly golf club

Key requirements

Experience in a fast-paced environment

Background working in Golf clubs or Gastro pubs

NVQ 2 or equivalent in professional cookery ( NVQ 3 desirable)

Level 2 in food hygiene

Working knowledge of COSHH and health & safety

Core Responsibilities

Assisting Head Chef by:

• Providing the Catering Service to a high-quality service to meet expected core standards that have been set and agreed.
• Acting in professional approach and comply with club policies, rules and procedures.
• Running kitchenservice in the absenceof Head Chef
• Preparing and executing suitable menus for regular service and specific functions according to requirements and to agreed budgets established with the Head Chef.
• Putting forward new catering/function/menu ideas or innovations to enhance or improve the level of service to members to Head Chef.
• Managing Catering stock levels and stock rotation to ensure the food delivers its budgeted Gross Profit.
• Ensuring the Catering operation complies with the requirements laid out in the Food Safety Manual / Current legislation ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Completing weekly tasks and reporting as defined by Head Chef, General Manager, including cleaning, temperature checks and wastage recording.
• Reporting any Health & Safety concerns to Head Chef / General Manager / Clubhouse Maintenance Manager
• Ensuring training record is kept up to date including Food Hygiene & COSHH
