Catering Manager
Reed Recruitment is a leading agency that specialises in finding the best talent for the Hospitality/Catering sector in Northern Ireland. We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with a prestigious School based in South Belfast to offer exciting opportunity for a Catering Manager.
As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school’s catering service, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer satisfaction. You will also manage a team of staff, plan menus, order supplies, monitor budgets and liaise with suppliers and stakeholders. You will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting, and hold relevant qualifications in food safety and management. You will also have excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, as well as a passion for providing healthy and nutritious meals to students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
ESSENTIAL
NVQ Level 2 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent or higher relevant qualification.
OR
3 years’ experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment.
Food Safety Level 2 (Basic Food Hygiene) Certificate.
DESIRABLE
5 GCSEs, including English Language and Mathematics.
First Aid Qualification.
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
1 year or more relevant experience.
Experience of working and leading a catering team including menu planning, ordering and stock control, cooking and service of food.
DESIRABLE
Experience within a school or education establishment.
Catering software experience.
Experience of budget management.
SKILLS
ESSENTIAL
Committed to effective teamwork.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
DESIRABLE
Strong attention to detail.
ICT skills.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
36 hours per week – 8.00am to 3.45pm
£22,238 – £23,781 (NJC Points 7-11)
